Context
Arc Wallet is a non-custodial mobile wallet targeting DeFi power users, supporting 12 EVM chains, Solana, and TON in a single app. The client needed wallet that balanced deep DeFi functionality with approachable UX for mainstream users.
Challenge
MPC key management with cloud shard backup, without sacrificing self-custody guarantees. We implemented a 2-of-2 MPC scheme where one shard lives on device and one in encrypted cloud storage — recoverable only with biometric + backup phrase.
